The TECHNiPHOBiA Geek
So who is the Geek?
Many of us know a geek - that guy down in IT who knows how to set up a printer, that girl in Human Resources who’s a genius with the database – but the Geek is a figure of legend. The archetype, the icon, the model for all subsequent geeks – just who is he?
For how long has the Geek been inspiring great IT developments? Was the abacus his first design? Did he scribble the words “difference engine” on the back of Charles Babbage’s Times newspaper?
Was it the Geek who waved at Bill from the upstairs window, or tossed that Cox’s Orange Pippin across the kitchen to Steve, or poked young Zuckerberg in the ribs at the queue for the student union bar? And if he whispered in Sir Clive’s ear about a nifty little thing called the ZX80, why didn’t he warn him about silly-looking electric tricycles?
And… is the Geek even a “he” at all?!
So many questions, but just one that interests you. Will you have access to the wisdom of the Geek?
Absolutely. You may never meet the elusive, mysterious Geek, but because he cherishes his reputation for offering the very best knowledge and advice, only the very best people ever get to work with the Geek – and the very best are at TECHNiPHOBiA.
